Q: What can I expect on my visits?
A:
At the start of each session, Jessica will discuss your current physical condition and state of mind to best design your session for that day. During the session, Jessica may ask you questions regarding the pressure of the work or how the areas being worked feel (i.e. tender, sore, referred pain to another of the body). Once the session is completed, Jessica will make her assessment of what she found through the bodywork and will offer her recommendations for self-care and future treatments.
Q: How often should I receive Massage Therapy?
A:
Your body will tell you when you need massage. Generally, Swedish Massage is ideal at least once a month to increase the circulation of blood and lymph throughout your body and for general relaxation. If you suffer from chronic pain from injury or illness, then certainly bodywork more frequent than once a month is desirable and necessary. We will discuss a course a treatment best suited for you after your first session and thereafter.
Q: What types of massage do you offer?
A:
The bodywork can consist of a variety of techniques, including Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular/Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Orthopedic Stretching. For Pre-Natal, Laboring, and Postpartum clients, bodywork will be performed in the tradition of MotherMassage
®. Swedish Massage is always offered and can be integrated into any session.
Q: Is there sales tax on massage services?
A:
As of October 1, 2006, massage is a taxable service in the State of NJ, except when provided pursuant to a doctor's prescription. If massage treatment is deemed medically necessary by a licensed medical doctor (M.D.), osteopath (O.D.), chiropractor, podiatrist (D.P.M.), psychologist with a doctorate in psychology, or dentist, then massage services are non-taxable. Please contact us for a prescription form which your doctor may complete prior to your session.
Q: Do you accept health insurance?
A:
At this time, Comprehensive Massage Care does not accept health insurance as a form of payment unless through an automobile, personal injury or work-related accident. As a courtesy we will submit a claim form to your health insurance carrier for reimbursement if your coverage includes out of network benefits for massage from a Massage Therapist. We are a participating network provider through the American Specialty Health Affinity discount program. Contact your health insurance carrier to confirm eligibility.
Please note that Myofascial Release treatments are not eligible under this discount plan.
Q: S
hould I tip my massage therapist?
A:
Where as it is customary to tip for massage services at a salon or spa and much appreciated, gratuity is not necessary at Comprehensive Massage Care.
Q: Do you offer any referral incentives?
A:
A referral of a friend or family member is the up-most of sincerity. As a thank you for every referral, Comprehensive Massage Care offers a$25 discount to the referring client which can be used towards their next massage session.
